MY PHILOSOPHY
How you do one thing
is how you do everything.
I realized it was time for me to start a journey to master my own mind. When this journey began, I learned from people like Tom Bilyeu, Gary Vaynerchuck and Kobe Bryant to adopt the learning mentality. I made it a point to go out and learn from other top athletes in order to improve my approach and I started the podcast @the_studentathlete. My greatest strength is my ability to learn from experience and implement a strategic game-plan to become better. In fact, during the process of playing my way onto the UVIC golf team, I documented many of my lessons on my instagram which you can see here:
I have always had the goal to play golf at the highest possible level and I will do whatever it takes to reach this goal. I firmly believe that I have the ability to achieve this goal and am grateful for the opportunity to pursue my ambition.
Why The Mind is Important to Me:
At the highest level of golf, the biggest differentiation amongst players is their mental strength. Each player might have the physical ability to win each week, but the champion is often the player who can stay calm in tough situations, play to their own strengths, and remain focused in high-pressure situations. I have committed my life to learning about the mind and training my mind to become as sharp as possible.
Much of my work ethic takes after Kobe Bryant; early mornings and lots of work on the course. My goal is to always outwork the competition.
Along my journey to learn from the best and develop my self-awareness I connected with Alain Cormier who is one of the founders of SPC and the Mental Game Mastery Program. I started to work on the MGM Program and noticed the results I have been looking for. For me, the MGM program gives me a framework to help me measure progress, a community to use as a knowledge resource, and it taps into my competitive nature by turning systems into competitions with other athletes from different domains.
I have joined the SPC team and am working to bring these tools and resources to athletes from various different sports and backgrounds.
